ERSA is pleased to announce that the sector's second UK Employability Day will take place on 9 June 2017.
Last year, on the first ever Employability Day, we saw a wide range of activities taking place with 80 centres taking part, hosting visits from MPs, Mayors, MEPs, councillors, government officials and influencers. Members also launched reports, posted vlogs, arranged employer interviews and elections hustings. The activities generated lots of local media, political blogs, tweets and an editorial from the Employment Minister. Frontline staff saw the benefit too - feedback included :
"This is the first time [we have] had an event... and I can see the benefits from the feedback given from both referral partners and customers, and more will be scheduled for the future."
"We had a celebration with customers – three found jobs before 10am!"
This year members and non-members alike will be supported by ERSA to open their doors across the UK and invite local stakeholders, partners and businesses to show what employment support means at the frontline and the impact it is having in the local area. There are many ways your organisation can get involved, including hosting visits, supporting social media activities, sending case studies to local press and celebrating your staff.
ERSA will provide a toolkit which includes: promotional materials (logos, banners, posters); template letters and emails of invitation; suggested targets; press releases; messaging; and visit briefings with practical guidance.
