The Day of Campaigning for ‘Employability’ is Friday 17 June 2022

Employability Day is on Friday 17 June 2022 and is a UK wide campaign for the Employment Support Sector!

What is Employability Day?

The day is an opportunity for employment support organisations and employers to celebrate their hard work supporting people to enter or progress in employment. It allows them to shout about their success and drive understanding across key stakeholders at local, regional and national level.

Any organisation that supports people to enter or progress in work can get involved in Employability Day, including charities, businesses, employers, social enterprises, local authorities, housing associations and community groups.

What’s on!

  • Sport4Life will host a Careers Support Fair with local employers careers advisors and employability mentors ready to offer not just advice, but actual applications and interview slots for job-ready attendees. – Meet local employers – apply for jobs – improve your CV – Interview skills – enrol on training – & much, much more
  • Fedcap Scotland have invited employers from various sectors to take part in a jobs fair for jobseekers where they’ll be running workshops on interview skills, application forms, confidence building and covering letters as well as holding Health and Wellbeing tasters.
  • Routes To Work 20,000 Celebration, 17 June @1pm
  • Clarion Housing Group Harold Hill Community Hub to support local Jobseekers
  • Shaw Trust are celebrating 40 years with 40 events!
  • The Growth Company will use the day to promote rewarding careers in Health and Social Care. 
  • Seetec Pluss  – presentations to stakeholders, charities, MP, local councils, JCP and IEP on the work they do in delivery areas across England. Plus showcasing how transferrable skills and employing disabled people is an advantage to employers. Jobs fair for participants and showcasing courses that can be delivered by delivery skills partners.
  • StartScotland are hosting a day of activities focusing on the hidden job market and how to access it. Working with a tutor participants will find out what to say to potential employers, then write and practice their pitches.  A retail walk will be organised.  By the end of the day participants will know how to tailor their letters to their specific job goals, they will also review their CVs using the Fedcap Hub
  • Belina Consulting (Get Ready for Work Programme) are hosting an in person event for mums and employers with a visit from Mayor of London’s office.
  • Social Enterprise Kent (SEK) are running Employability taster sessions in various Jobcentres in Kent. 
  • Transform Lives Company are hosting an event  to match employers with great local talent in Liverpool with TLC Talent Pool
  • RNIB will be promoting a number of e-learning and toolkits for jobseekers, employment professionals and employers
  • The Papworth Trust will be opening up their doors in Basildon where jobseekers will hear practical tips from Employment Advisors with a focus on; Coping with unemployment; Confidence and motivation and Discovering your transferable skills. Customers will also have the chance to have mock interviews with Papworth Employment Advisors.
  • The Forward Trust Restart Scheme are hosting a jobs fair at the Turner Contemporary Art Gallery in Margate, Kent with many employers and partner agencies.
  • Fedcap Employment will host an employers event at their Slough office providing three local businesses an assessment day for jobseekers
  • Yes Manchester will be touring various shopping areas in north Manchester armed with information and balloons to tell people about what they do, where they can be found along with shouting about Employability Day
