ERSA’s recommendations for employment provision for the long term unemployed call for ‘evolution not revolution’ in the design of future programmes. This report makes the case for a number of new design elements to be incorporated into future design, while building on what is already working well in the Work Programme and other employment schemes. The recommendations include plans for a new assessment process, adaptations to the financial model, the set up of CPA level boards, plus integation with skills funding and other services.
