Employability Day 2019 took place during a pivotal year in British politics. It provides the perfect platform for organisations to showcase the importance of employment support for social inclusion and productivity.
The day is an opportunity for employment support organisations and employers to celebrate their hard work supporting people to enter or progress in employment. It allows them to shout about their success and drive understanding across key stakeholders at local, regional and national level.
Any organisation that supports people to enter or progress in work can get involved in Employability Day, including charities, businesses, employers, social enterprises, local authorities, housing associations and community groups. This year, over 700 organisations took part. To find out more about last year's event, click here.
This year's theme is Closing the Gaps. We want to highlight the tireless efforts of organisations across the UK who help to close employment gaps by supporting disadvantaged people to enter, sustain or progress in work. For more information, download the Closing the Gaps guide here.
There are many ways to get involved in Employability Day – the only limit is your imagination!
In the past organisations have hosted VIP visits, held open days or job fairs with jobseekers and employers, put on street stalls, activity mornings or tea parties, launched reports or hosted roundtables or panel discussions, or simply thrown a party for their staff and supported the day online by posting pictures and supportive messages.
