15 jobseekers on the Work Programme found employment with Nando’s in central Edinburgh

Thirty five  jobseekers on the Work Programme with Ingeus were interviewed by Nando’s in readiness for a restaurant opening in central Edinburgh. Having previously recruited staff for another Nando’s restaurant in the city, Craig Purves from Ingeus’ Employer Services Team was able to accurately assess his clients’ suitability for the roles, putting forward only relevant applicants for Nando’s to interview. Nando’s employed 15 people in roles as cashiers, grillers and serving staff. One of those employed by Nandos was David Leitch, 32, who was unemployed for three years after taking time off to nurse his seriously ill son.

David said: “It is easy to get typecast when you have been out of work for a while but through Ingeus, Nando’s has given me a chance to prove myself.”
