After being made redundant from a position he had held for 17 years, ERSA Significant Achievement nominee Peter had been faced with a period of unemployment of two years. At 60, he was very concerned about his age being a barrier for employers. Furthermore, he had suffered a close bereavement during this period, and was facing an uncertain future. With determination and the support of his Interserve Working Futures Work Programme Work Coach, Peter successful gained sustainable employment at Tesco Plc.
Demonstrating an outstanding commitment to supporting other participants of the Work Programme, Peter has also shared his experiences with other customers, empowering them with the knowledge of the social and health benefits of sustained employment.
