Val Wintrup had a successful career of over 24 years with the Prison Service. After being medically retired in January 2011 with Multiple Sclerosis she seized the opportunity to enrol on Work Choice and was offered a role at Kennedy Scott, where she has utilised her experience to specialise in delivering provision for prison leavers.
Despite serious health concerns, Val has made a significant impact in delivering workshops tailored to the needs of ex-offenders. She has brokered new relationships for Kennedy Scott to deliver these workshops and given a massive amount of personal time and energy into creating these workshops.
Val’s efforts and enthusiasm (not to mention the cream cakes she takes into the office) have seen her become a highly valued member of the Kennedy Scott team.
Paul who attended a workshop by Val, said:
“I would like to thank Val for all the hard work that she has put into this workshop. She is on the right track; she has seen this situation from all sides so knows what works for ex-offenders. It’s great what she has done for us. The course is very helpful some times when you come out of prison you don’t know who to turn too. It’s great finding out about other people’s experiences.”
