About Haringey
Haringey is a fantastic place to live and work – the world in one borough. A place brimming with creativity, personality, radicalism, and community. It is a place where we stand up for each other. A place that is proudly distinctive. We’ll be celebrating all this and more as the “rebel borough” when we are the 2027 London Borough of Culture.
Our history champions change-makers and everyday rebels; revelling in our differences, battling discrimination, championing equality, and doing things our own way. Haringey’s people are a huge asset, with knowledge, expertise, and passion. Our staff members embody our organisational values: Caring, Creative, Courageous, Collaborative and Community-focused. These values keep us looking forward, ambitious for the future, and continuously striving to do our very best for all of our residents.
About the role
Are you passionate about making a difference in your local community? Join our dynamic Haringey Works team as a Business Admin Apprentice! This role offers an exciting opportunity to gain practical experience in public sector administration, customer service, and project management, all while working towards a Business & Administration Level 3 qualification. As part of the Haringey Works team, you will play a key role in supporting residents to overcome barriers to employment and enhance their skills, helping to deliver essential projects that make a real impact.
In this role, you’ll manage client enquiries, assist with event planning, and contribute to the development of our employment and skills services. Your responsibilities will include providing administrative support, coordinating client appointments and workshops, participating in event planning, and supporting the maintenance of the Client Relationship Management (CRM) system. You’ll also be involved in creating content for marketing strategies and developing systems for client feedback and service improvement. This position is your gateway to a rewarding career in the Employment & Skills sector within local government.
About the team
This is a fantastic opportunity to join our new Inclusive Economy service, which is responsible for delivering the borough’s Inclusive Economy Plan, Opportunity Haringey. With several key roles available, we are seeking results-driven individuals who are passionate about providing high-quality support to our diverse residents and businesses. As we prepare for the London Borough of Culture 2027 and Euro 2028, it’s an ideal time to join us in driving our plans forward. Our Employment and Skills teams include Haringey Works, our employment support service offering recruitment and skills assistance to residents and businesses, and Haringey Learns, our Adult Learning Service.
About you
We are seeking a motivated individual eager to learn and grow within a supportive team environment. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys helping others and is looking to develop a career in business administration. If you have a specific interest in HR or recruitment, that’s a bonus. We are looking for someone with strong communication skills, both written and verbal, good organisational abilities, and proficiency in IT, particularly with Microsoft Office and social media tools. You’ll need to be a flexible team player who can also work independently when required and have a genuine passion for supporting the local community. A commitment to personal development and continuous learning is essential.
While an interest in HR or recruitment is desirable, it’s not a requirement. We do expect candidates to have GCSEs A-C / 4-9 in English and Maths or equivalent. If you don’t have these qualifications, you must be willing to undertake a functional skills assessment to achieve Level 2 in English & Maths by the end of the apprenticeship. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to Opportunity Haringey, our Inclusive Economy strategy, while gaining invaluable skills and experience.
Working for Haringey

Our benefits package includes a leave entitlement of 31 days + bank holidays, potential hybrid working opportunities, health and wellbeing support, a generous local government pension scheme and a range of discount schemes across leisure and culture that provide both financial and money-saving discounts.
