Novus, who deliver education, training and employment opportunities to adults and young people in UK prisons, have partnered with Her Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) to work with employers in the North West to demonstrate the value to their business in recruiting ex-offenders to help fill their skills gap.

To celebrate National Employability Day on Friday 29 June, Novus are hosting a unique conference in the region to offer local employers the opportunity to find out how they can work with the prison service and their partners.

Led by HMPPS in collaboration with Novus, the conference will offer advice and showcase success stories. There will be information about how employers can work with prisons to provide a pipeline of people to fill their skills gaps and address their business needs.

Barbara McDonough, Chief Operating Officer, Novus said: “This is a great opportunity for organisations in the North West to come together to not only support the region’s skills needs but to contribute towards a safer society. We know the importance of employment in helping to reduce re-offending. By working together we can transform the lives of people in custody and equip them with the knowledge and experience employers need to help them gain employment on release.”

The conference will take place in St George’s Hall, Liverpool on Friday 29 June 2018 and will run from 8.15am to 12.30pm.

The conference is open to interested employers across the region. Register now and find out how ex-offenders can make a difference to your organisation.
