ERSA welcomes the news that the end of 2014 sees record employment in the UK with 30.8 million people in work.

ERSA is also pleased to see the recognition today by the Work and Pensions Secretary, Iain Duncan Smith, that the Work Programme is contributing to today’s positive employment figures and is helping more people into work than previous schemes.

Kirsty McHugh, ERSA Chief Executive, said:

“As we reach the end of 2014, we can look back at a positive year for UK employment, which has been fuelled by the hard work of jobseekers and the organisation that supported them. The Work Programme has now helped almost 640,000 people into work and we welcome the recognition of its success by the Secretary of State.”
