ERSA welcomes the news that the end of 2014 sees record employment in the UK with 30.8 million people in work.

ERSA is also pleased to see the recognition today by the Work and Pensions Secretary, Iain Duncan Smith, that the Work Programme is contributing to today’s positive employment figures and is helping more people into work then previous schemes.

Kirsty McHugh, ERSA Chief Executive, said:

“As we reach the end of 2014, we can look back at a positive year for UK employment, which is being fuelled by the hard work of jobseekers and the organisation that support them. The Work Programme has now helped 639,000 people into work and we welcome the recognition of its success by Iain Duncan Smith.”
