Margaret Greenwood, MP for Wirral West, has marked this year’s UK Employability Day by visiting Involve Northwest’s ReachOut Project at Woodchurch Methodist Church.
The ReachOut Project is an employment support service providing one-to-one support with confidence building, help writing CVs, support with online job applications, interview techniques, wellbeing guidance and job matching to current vacancies with local employers. It delivers 88 community work clubs across Wirral each month.
An average month sees 123 Wirral residents sign up to the project for employment advice, with 67 placed into work. 86% of service users stay in work for longer than six months with help from the project.
Margaret Greenwood MP, who is Shadow Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, met with job coaches and clients at the session in Woodchurch.
Margaret Greenwood said:
‘I was delighted to have the chance to visit the ReachOut Project as part of this year’s UK Employability Day.
This is a great project supporting local people to get into and stay in work. I could see from speaking to the job coaches how dedicated they are to helping their clients and what a valuable service they provide to the people of Wirral.’

This year’s UK Employability Day is on 29 June and it is coordinated by the Employment Related Services Association (ERSA), the representative body for organisations delivering employment support services.
