The charity has established links with local offender friendly employers who believe that giving a job to a former offender empowers motivation to change and reduces the risk that they will return to their former criminality. In 2012 PLIAS Resettlement became an accredited centre for the British Safety Council and CITB.
The charity also works with young people who are in the criminal justice system or at risk of entering. There is also help for their families. Further projects include: Building Futures, aimed at upskilling and supporting unemployed participants back into employment andTools4Change helps offenders who are not yet ready for employment and have complex needs and housing and benefit issues.
“PLIAS Resettlement cares about improving Service User’s life chances and future prospects… The number of years this small charity has been providing a service to the local community is proof of its ability to evolve and innovate.”
Joanne Crewdson, Regional Contract Director, G4S
“Thank you for inspiring me to take on a father role to this young man. You have inspired me to want to do for him what I would do for my own son and to do my best to ensure he stays consistent.”

“I have never been offered support but since meeting with PLIAS I have a job in a short space of time. Brilliant – first job in nearly two years. Thank you.”

Winning the category of Offender Related Services Provider is a much deserved tribute to the work of this London-based charity that is truly changing lives. It places service user feedback at the heart of its development and the commitment and dedication of its advisors, many former offenders, is inspirational for its current participants.
