“Let’s talk about the menopause” for the employment support sector.
20th November 2024.
The UK workforce has changed considerably over the last 50 years. Women now make up nearly half of the workforce and women over 50 are its fastest growing demographic. More notably, nearly 8 out of 10 menopausal women are in work. There are many symptoms related to menopause and any combination of these may affect an individual’s ability to do their job and may cause them to lose motivation and confidence or even consider leaving their job. It is possible to support these individuals, but employees are often reluctant to talk about their menopause symptoms and the support that they need for fear of being mocked, shamed, ignored or overlooked for progression opportunities.
This introductory session will give you an overview of the potential impact of the menopause in your workplace and what you can do to get the menopause conversation started and to put in place the strategy and support that is needed.
This session is aimed at decision makers – business owners, senior leaders, senior managers, wellbeing leads, menopause leads and staff development leads.
You will learn about:
- Basic menopause facts including what it is, the stages, what causes it, and the symptoms.
- The potential impact of the menopause on individuals in the workplace and how you can support them.
How supporting individuals experiencing menopause symptoms can benefit your business.
