As part of this function there has been an employer portal developed that is managed by the 5 national prime providers in partnership, which enables employers to easily identify provision and contact points for support with vacancies and recruitment. This portal will be advertised and marketed by the prime providers and will also feature as a link on the employer support function on the .gov website. The portal will automatically direct employers to the relevant prime provider geographically who will engage with the employer, identify their needs and manage the response and applications to the vacancies. The prime provider will also share these opportunities with all other DWP provision within their geographical locations to make sure that all possible candidates have access to opportunities.

The aim of the site is to provide employers with a simple and effective way to promote and fill their vacancies. The benefit to participants on the Work and Health Programme is they can find out about large numbers of vacancies across the country directly from their advisers – making sure they hear about the right roles for them.

Speaking about the new Portal, Jenny La Rocque, Shaw Trust’s National Employer  Manager, comments:

“We are always looking for new ways to bring employers together with the right candidates. We know that being in work improves health and wellbeing, it provides an income and helps people to progress, however, it is so important people are matched with the right skills and support.

For Shaw Trust it is also the opportunity for us to build new relationships with employers, support their needs and encourage greater take up of Disability Confident accreditation.”

The Work and Health Programme supports people with health conditions, disabilities and anyone who has been out of work for more than two years to start working.

This national service gives peace of mind as vacancies once need to be shared once to reach all providers.
Local DWP partners and Work and Health Programme providers will work with employers to understand organisational need and the roles available before designing an effective and inclusive recruitment process.
